we will be in those areas in April. There are 2 couples, looking for recommendations for lodging in Westport, Doolin, Dingle. Probably staying few days in each. BnBs, vrbo, hotel? Thanks.
I don't have a specific recommendation, but in Westport, I would stay down at the Quay for the beautiful views and lovely walks.
Cill Bhreah or the Lighthouse in Dingle. Stayed in both several times each and you will be pleased. Cill is a little further out and I understand it has new owners in last two years. Lighthouse is walkable to town a good stretch of the leg. Both have onsite parking and are really wonderful. Stayed in the Sea view a few years ago in Doolin and it had good view of town and harbor. Can't remember name of B and B in Westport.
For Doolin, we loved our stay at Sheedy's Doolin (https://sheedysdoolin.com/).
Another vote for Sheedy’s in Doolin
I must start with a disclaimer. I hate bar noise, event noise, etc when I am trying to sleep. That is why I have only sad memories from my stay at The Wyatt Hotel in Westport. When things finally quieted down about 2 am I thought I would be able to nod off to sleep. Next, two hotel employees stood directly under my window having a long, loud conversation for about 20 minutes. I was not a happy camper!
If noise doesn't bother you, then you might like the location which is close to the center of things.
All three towns are famous for their great trad music sessions, so we always stay in town rather than make a long walk home in the dark. In Westport, we stayed at Clooneen GH, in Doolin we've stayed at Doolin Cottage, Churchfields and a now closed B&B, and in Dingle we always stay at Bambury's. All of those are "in town" without being upstairs or next to the pubs.
Thanks for all the replies. Appreciate it.
Greenmount House in Dingle. Our favorite lodging on our August 2023 trip.
Heaton's in Dingle. They have two locations, both in-town, and with harbor views.
Highly recommend Pax Guest House in Dingle. It was our favorite stay of our entire London/Ireland trip this past May.
