My sister and I are visiting Ireland next summer. We will fly into Dublin and plan to take a train to Ennis where we will pick up our car the next day. Can anyone suggest a place to stay in Ennis? I know RS tours begin in Ennis, but not sure where the spend that first night.

We had a nice stay at Grey Gables. Friendly owner, good breakfas, at least back in 2019.

Unfortunately, the Grey Gables b&B where I stayed and others on this forum have recommended in the past, closed permanently during Covid. The Old Ground Hotel, known for their trad music sessions in its restaurant, gets good reviews for the hotel too. I enjoyed a dinner and music in their restaurant but didn't stay there.

We stayed at the Old Ground this past July. Our rooms were very nice, the hotel itself lovely with an in house bar, attached pub and a great location. The staff was outstanding. They booked a car to Shannon to pick us up and bring us to the hotel. We enjoyed Ennis so much, I'd love to go back and will someday.
