My husband and I (mid-50’s) are traveling to Ireland in June and planning to spend a few days in Cork city. Would love any lodging recommendations, as Rick’s latest book doesn’t have a chapter on that particular city (just the county).
Thanks!

We stayed 3 nights at the Clayton Hotel. Breakfast was good, but I purchased breakfast only for the days I new I could have time to eat. You can purchase the night before and save a couple euros. We loved location. Very nice and clean hotel!!
Thank you so much for the recommendation! Looks like a great location - we just booked it.
We've been to Cork City but have never stayed there. But this May we will be staying at the Maldron Hotel South Mall Cork for 3 nights. Seems reasonably located, reasonably reviewed, and reasonably priced (for Cork City). A couple other hotels were recommended to us by a local contact but were out of our comfort range price-wise.
