Lodging between Cliffs of Moher and Leap Castle

I have read and reread Rick's guidebook for Ireland and there isn't much about the interior of Ireland. I'm looking for lodging between the Cliffs of Moher and Leap Castle. I'm lost without Rick's suggestions. I don't know where to begin!

T, It's only a two hour drive from Leap Castle out to Doolin, which is right at the cliffs, why not just stay in Doolin. Its a cool little village, great B&B's, fun pubs, neat area. I would stay at Daly's in Doolin and one evening visit the Doolin Music House for some fun times and great music. Then I would have dinner and more music and beer at Gus O'Connor's Pub, perfect night, a night I often recall fondly from my Ireland trip!!! http://www.dalys-doolin.com/ https://www.doolinmusichouse.com/

J, I didn't realize Leap Castle was only 2 hours from Doolin. Thank you for the suggestions. My next question is whether to take the southern route via Limerick or the northern route via Derrybrien. What do you suggest about that?

I would probably take the southern route down around Limerick. Hopefully someone that has driven that way will chime in but I looked at the routes on AA and on Google Earth and they both suggest the southern route being quicker. That being said I guess it depends on how much driving you enjoy and how much driving you are doing on your trip. I admit I enjoyed driving in the rural areas of west Ireland during my stay as you really get a feel for the countryside BUT it can get a bit tedious too. The southern route has more "interstate" roadway that will make the driving easier if you are a new Ireland driver. You also get countryside driving on that route as you get up past Shannon near Ennis. (bout 24 miles worth) You can give the routes a look, I liked AA for planning my driving in Ireland. https://www.theaa.ie/routes/#/r/Leap+Castle,The+Leap,County+Offaly,Ireland/Doolin,County+Clare,Ireland/
I also search through google earth and then take a look at my route on the street view to see how the roads look. I found driving in Ireland pretty easy.

Jaradd I tried to use the AA Routeplanner but it appears you must be an AA member. Is that correct?
