Lodging and dining in Dingle

Looking at Castlewood, Heatons and Emlagh for lodging/ breakfast. Any thoughts for a couple? Is near to the city of Dingle important or not so much? We will have a car.
Heard about Doyle's and Out of the Blue for dining. Thoughts and suggestions?
Also, pubs for live music?
Thanks.

Castlewood is lovely and has won tons of awards. The front rooms have ocean views. It is located on the western edge of Dingle but it is only a few blocks walk into town.

We stayed at and loved the Pax Guesthouse. Not right in town, but maybe 1 mile away. Fantastic breakfast and views of Dingle Harbor.
For food we enjoyed Global Village $$$
Lord Baker’s $$
Pubs we loved Nelligan’s, Foxy John’s, Tommy 0’Sullivans, so many! We liked to wander the streets and if we heard music we liked, we went in!

We stayed at Brownes' B&B, which was about a 15 minute walk to the town center. Absolutely loved it. Hosts were wonderful - on our arrival, they sat down with us for about 20 minutes and told us their favorite restaurants, gave us tips on the Slea Head Drive that even Rick missed, and let us know which pubs would have the best live music the nights we were in Dingle. The breakfasts were excellent and the cost was very reasonable. I'd definitely stay there again.

Another vote for Global Village for a great meal. Do not miss Murphy's Ice Cream (they also have a post in Dublin now, but the original shop is in Dingle). So good. Our favorite restaurant (An Canteen) appears sadly to be closed. Like Foxy John's pub (although we didn't catch any music there). Liked John Benny's and O'Sullivan's Courthouse pub for music.

Castlewood is my vote. We stayed there 2 years ago and have booked again for this year. Wonderful breakfast (check out the menu on website), beautiful views, easy walk to town , etc. We usually eat in the pubs but Doyle's and Out of the Blue are good. We also like the Chart House. Lots of good music in the pubs. You can just wander around and go in when you hear something you like. We like to stay within walking distance of town as we do enjoy the pubs at night and don't want to drive after enjoying an evening with music and Guinness. Have a wonderful time.

We stayed at Dunlavin House, just across the bridge. Walkable, but driving and parking is easy. Very pleasant. Nice view of the harbor, (and the graveyard). O’Sullivan’s Courthouse had the best music while we were there. Drop in to the Dingle Music Shop to get the straight scoop on the best music in town.

Heaton's is the best - Cam and Noula are amazing hosts! It's a quick walk to town. We've been there on 2 separate trips. Dingle is the best!

We enjoyed Brownes B&B too.. Short walk to town and it is a bit dark along the roadway but we walked it (round a mile to the harbor) and drove it. In April we had no trouble finding parking in the town center so after walking we decided to drive, it was not an issue so you might give Brownes a look. Our room was on the ground floor and had two beds, nice meals, good info from Camilla. We enjoyed Out of the Blue and had no trouble tracking down music. Don't short your time in Dingle, its really cool!

Castlewood and Heaton's are owned by the same family (at least I think they still are). Castlewood is owned by Brian Heaton. They are side by side and are excellent. As indicated the breakfasts are amazing. I stayed in Castlewood on a RS tour and it was fabulous. The rest of the family were in Heaton's and it was equally as good.

That location is easily walkable into town so it's easy to park and walk. It's also easy to access the Slea Head drive.

There is also another very nice B&B around the end of the bay from Castlewood and Heaton's called Milltown House. It's owned by RS guide Stephen McPhilemy. I've not stayed there but Stephen toured us thru the house and had a happy hour over there for our group. Seamus the Irish wolfhound, who accompanied our tour group on our tour around Dingletown, also lives at Milltown House. Our family still uses the phrase "I have to p*ss like an Irish Wolfhound" after Seamus let loose on a city center sidewalk.

I'm not familiar with your other choice.

To add to the pub list: O'Flaherty's. Excellent music! Greenmount House is another great B&B (rooms with great sea views, excellent breakfast buffet), just a quick walk to town.

We spent a night at Murphy's Pub B & B. Comfortable with a straightforward brekkie reasonable price. Smack bang in the middle of town opposite the harbour.
We ate at a fish and chip shop nearby then spent a pleasant evening at Murphy's bar.

Our BnB host, Stephen, at Milltown House (a great place to stay) recommended Out of the Blue. I'm a vegetarian so eating at seafood places doesn't appeal to me, but my daughter liked Sheehy's Anchor Down and some of our group ate at Dick Mack's Pub which they enjoyed. My favorite Au Canteen is closed, so we ate at Grey's Lane Bistro which was a wonderful place to eat. I ate at Global Village a few years ago and can recommend it. Good idea to make reservations at the restaurants especially in high season. I can also highly recommend Greenmount House BnB.
