We'll be traveling in June to Ireland and have read there's great live music in Dingle & Doolin. We have a 13 year old daughter, so I wanted to see if there were any places that play traditional Irish music that would be appropriate for her. Thanks
Greetings from Dingle!
Theres a ton of great places for music in both towns, the law states no under 18's in a bar after 9pm, and really that is how it should be, though there are a few pubs in both towns that have early sessions and also concerts that take place say from the bar scene.
Is your daughter a musician? Check out the official site for Irish traditional music https://comhaltas.ie/
It will give some ideas of local classes and sessions for young people that she can join in with or go and watch.
Any detailed questions just send me an email.

Thanks so much for the information! Our whole family has been looking forward to listening to some traditional Irish music on our trip & I really wanted my daughter to be able to enjoy it as well
Stephan, as always, is right. However, in our experience, if we arrived around 7:30 and ordered food, etc. and just lingered discreetly, nobody ever said a word about our younger teen son being there. And of course, we were leaving by 10ish, so it wasn't a big deal.
When you get to Dingle, stop into Siopa Ceoil music shop and see the owner, Michael Herlihy. He's got an extensive collection of Irish music and enjoys engaging kids. He can also sell you tickets to concerts in the shop, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as well as the must-see concerts at St. James Church, Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. The latter concert was truly magical as you listen to a variety of traditional instruments as the sun starts to set. Tickets for the concert in the church sell out ( only 100 seats), so plan accordingly.
Thanks for the different ideas! We'll definitely stop into the music shop and get info about the concerts!
We had great food and wonderful traditional music at McDermot's pub in Doolin.
