Literary Pub Crawl in Dublin

Is this worth doing?? It sounds like a lot of fun but I would like to hear from those who have done it. Also, what time does it start and end and how do you get signed up for it?
Thanks
Don

Donald, Our family did the Dublin literary pub crawl in 2012 and really enjoyed it. The actors who led the crawl were very knowledgeable with the history of the Dublin town and also very funny. You sign up for the pub crawl on their web site www.dublinpubcrawl.com. You meet at 7pm the crawl starts at 7:30pm and last about 2 hours. Also pay attention as there is a quiz at the end of the crawl.

Before or after the tour, head for the Palace Bar at 33 Fleet Street. It's a quiet, classic bar with a literary bent. The newspaper guys hang out there. The back room has a stained glass skylight. Quite unusual.

Have fun.

I took the tour in August. I booked it through the TI while I was in Dublin, then paid at the door. It was one of the best things I did there. It rained off and on during the tour and the guides were very good about finding sheltered places for us to gather. I think it took a couple of hours. We stopped several times on the walking tour for their commentary and we went into 3 pubs, each for about 15-20 minutes. Just enough time for a glass (1/2 pint) at each. Quite a few stayed on at the last pub to chat.

According to their website http://www.dublinpubcrawl.com/ you can buy tickets online (€1 booking fee) and meet at the pub at 19.15 (upstairs). The tour starts with commentary at the Duke Pub, so there's plenty of time to drink a pint at the start too.
