Limerick to Cork by way of Kinsale

We/re staying in Limerick on our first leg of two week holiday. We will get a tour van to take us around to Clare and Ennis and maybe Dingle on day trips while returning to our hotel each night of four days there. Then off to Cork to stay in Ballyvalone House for two nights, but we have two days in between that stay. So Kinsale? Does that make sense? After Ballyvalone we'll probably head to Galway and Aran islands for a few. Any suggestions? I've been to Ireland before years ago, but not Cork. My husband hasn't been at all, nor our friends.

Please clarify "two days in between that stay". You then said:

after Ballyvalone we'll probably head to Galway and Aran islands

I'm confused!

Kinsale is a great place to visit, and it’s not too far a drive from Limerick or Cork, so it would be a good 1 or 2 night stay between those two places.

How will you be traveling? By car or public transportation? I’m not sure how accessible Kinsale is by bus, so you need to check that.

Killarney is another option for something different from the coastal areas such as Cork, Kinsale, Galway, etc.

All the best,

Raymond

Thanks! We will be hiring a taxi driver/tour guide because none of us are driving there. And we want to also be a bit spontaneous and open to suggestions from the guide when we can. Last time I went to Ireland, a friend and I ( she lived in Tipperary for half her life) and she drove us all over the west and up to Athlone to visit friends, Aran Island Inishmor, And my favorite Clare and Ennis and The Craggenowen heritage place and tea house nearby, or maybe that tea house was at Swiss Cottage museum in I think Clare. Lovely! On the River Suir, I believe. It's been awhile. She was comfortable and used to back roads and highways, and we found some lovely tiny pubs and locals, and B& B's by going to the Tourist Boards or whatever you call them, to find lodging, and music was happening everywhere, even at breakfast at one B&B. On this trip, thirty years later, we want to relax & enjoy while someone else minds the road!
