Laundromats in Ireland

Has anyone had experience with laundromats? Western Ireland? I'm not sure if we'll need one...but it could help plan our stay. I could find an AirBnB with a washer...but regular BnBs would probably not have one. TIA

google the word "laundromats in" for whatever city you plan to be in near the lodging.
or ask the people where ever you are staying

I know for sure that there is one in Dingle as that was the one I had scoped out in case we needed one.

Do you have the RS Ireland book? He usually includes laundromat info for each area

It seems as if most towns have a laundromat or service laundry. Clifden had one (maybe two), and so did Kinsale, on our trip last spring. We dropped our clothes off in the morning, and picked them up washed, dried and folded in the afternoon. Cost 10 euros for one large load. Worth every penny.

If you ever stay in an actual hotel (even a small one), ask if they have laundry service. Very often they will also take your laundry and deliver it back clean, for a reasonable extra fee.

Have a great trip!

We used one in Clifden and Dublin. As stated above, 10euros for a load. Just email hotels or B&B’s where you will be staying and ask.

You'll ALL want to know this!

There's a new chain of laundry machines that have come to petrol stations (gas stations) in the West. Maybe the East, too... There are two sizes of washers - one 4 euros, one more....(for blankets, etc). and a huge drier. Everyone uses them. They even have bio friendly soap in them. Almost everyone I know uses them as they're cheaper and way faster than our own.....

We have them in Waterville, Glenbeigh, Killorglin.....so I'm sure there in most bigger places! I even met an american one time who asked me all kinds of questions about using it.... turns out he was an investor! I told him "we love them!"

Laundry mats are pretty pricey.....

Susan, I had an experience with those gas station launderettes in Galway this past fall. I did also see 1 at a gas station in the Sandymount neighborhood of Dublin. But as for my experience, I spent way too much time skulking about a gas station at night. There were 2 washers, 1 dryer and that dryer was taking forever. And I wasn't the only one looking to do laundry. At least it wasn't raining! Because I found the machines I chose to just wash all of our stuff. Because, Hey! I got a dryer. In retrospect I should have just done socks and undies because I ended up having to finish drying jeans and shirts next to the heaters in our room :(
