Hi:
Does anyone have a suggestion on where to stay wirhin a 10-15 drive from Dublin aiprort?
I have been looking at Malahide, its a cute village but where to stay? The one hotel that is recommended is a little pricey-$140/night for me. Is there a smaller hotel in the city property-I like the idea of walking along the harbor etc. before leaving Ireland.

Sherri, it looks like the distance and time from Malahide is about the same as from Dublin. Personally, I would just stay in Dublin-though a walk along the harbor does sound good. You'd have more lodging and restaurant choices and could probably do better price-wise. Have a great trip!

Have not stayed there but surely a B&B would be cheaper. In my 2013 B&B book it shows a place called Pebble Hill in Malahide for about 35 euro a night. Looks like a 3 star place, just an option. Good luck. Also try Smoothound.com website it might be helpful.

If you've already seen Dublin, Malahide is a pleasant change. It's also much quicker to get to the airport from there. It's time, not distance that matters.
Howth, about ten minutes further out, is also an alternative.
