landing in shannon and departing from Dublin- 7 nights in ireland

We have made reservations flying into Shannon and out of Dublin. Why? a coin toss. Not sure if this was the best idea but it's done. When we land in Shannon would it be too far to see the Cliffs of Moher (know we will be tired) and stay someplace around there possibly Ennis. I know I will be backtracking would like to go to Dingle, Cahersiveen, Kinsale, Rock of Cashel, ending up in Dublin for 2 nights. Any other must see sights plus itinerary ideas would be great.

The Cliffs are only maybe an hour from Shannon Airport, so they are easily doable your first day. What we did on our first trip was go directly to Bunratty Castle, six miles from the airport. We had lunch across the street, saw the castle and folk park, then went on to the Cliffs. We stayed at a beautiful place called On her Lodge, right on the Cliffs road, about a five minute drive from the Cliffs.

I'm planning my third trip to Ireland and we are also landing in Shannon and departing from Dublin. Our trip includes a three day visit with cousins and a final day at the Dublin Horse Show. Before all that though, we are doing a trip similar to the one you're planning. I thought I'd share it briefly to see if it helps. We land in Shannon and head straight to Doolin (about 90 minutes) where we are taking a ferry ride that includes a couple of hours on one of the Aran Islands and an ocean-side view of the Cliffs. Then, we are staying in Doolin, which is known to have pubs with excellent trad music. The next day, we head to Dingle. We are not taking the ferry because I've read many pros and cons of the ferry. Also, in the small print of our car rental agreement, it says not to take any ferries. I had a picture in my mind of missing the ramp and driving into the water (surviving) and being charged for the value of the car! We should arrive in Dingle around 1 pm and will grab lunch before taking a 3-hour private tour of the tip of the peninsula at 3:00. Now, we are not going to Kinsale, but I hear it's really adorable. We are going to spend the following morning at the gardens of Muckross House in Kilarney National Park before heading to Cashel. We'll tour the Rock and then, that night, see a traditional music and dance show that I love. It's called Bru Boru in Cashel. From there we go to visit cousins for three nights before having two final nights in Dublin. I hope this gives you a few ideas. If anyone else wants to comment on this trip, please do. I'd not want to pass on poor advice to another traveler. Hope you have a grand time!
