We would like route suggestions for the drive from Kinsale to Portmagee and on the following day from Port Magee to Killarney. Suggestions for places to stop are welcome as well. We will have a day long tour from Killarney to the Dingle Peninsula after these first two days.

If you're going to Portmagee for a Skellig Michael trip, you're going to have a very long day since they leave pretty early. A landing trip is called for (over an on-the-water visit).

Thank you for your cautionary comment. I totally agree. We are not going to Port Magee for an excursion to Michael Skellig. It was on the itinerary and we deleted it due to particular needs of the group. We are actually attempting to take a leisurely drive through the area. I have seen various routes recommended or cautions against. So, I am requesting other perspectives to make a decision.
