Kinsale Rugby 7s weekend

Hi,

Has anyone gone to Kinsale over the Rugby 7's bank holiday weekend? RS book says it can be a crowded mess that weekend.

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth popping into town for a halfday on the bank holiday Monday (we'll be staying about 20 minutes away in Bandon). I figure since the games happen on Saturday and Sunday that the crowds will have moved on by Monday afternoon?

Any insight here?

There are some discussion threads on TripAdvisor regarding the Rugby 7s weekend that might be of interest. Though somewhat dated, the common theme seems to be that the weekend itself is indeed very crowded with well lubricated supporters of the matches and is thus best avoided.
