I have been there! It was a last minute, spontaneous decision when our plans changed mid-trip. So we asked our hotel what to do and they suggested King John’s castle. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our visit. I’m sorry I don’t remember how long we spent there, but at least half a day in Limerick. The signage at the castle is very good, so if you read everything you could be there for several hours.

Limerick is a neat town.

Is it necessary to book tickets in advance at King John's Castle? I'd rather wait until I'm in the area if I have a choice.
