We are planning a 2 weeks of self drive tour in Ireland early June 2018. We are lnot sure whether to stay in Waterford or Kilkeny for 2 days?
Any suggestions?

Don't know your directions of driving tour but personally I enjoyed Kilkenny much more than Waterford. Waterford good for a quick look and Kilkenny much more lively and lovely. Kilkenny Castle grounds are lovely for a walk and the town itself just much more inviting.

I enjoyed Kilkenny much more than Waterford. It was more scenic, with a better choice of restaurants and things to do at night. So unless there is an exhibit or activity in or near Waterford that you really want to see or do, I suggest Kilkenny.
