My husband and I want to travel from Killarney to Galway by public transportation. It looks like our options are to take the train and endure a 4-hour layover in Limerick or take a Dublin Coach bus to Limerick and a CityLink bus from Limerick to Galway. I see horror stories about both bus services on TripAdvisor. Can anyone advise me which option would be preferable? Thank you.
The IR journey planners say to go via Dublin Heuston, where it's typically a half hour connection.
The 0745 from Killarney is a through train to Dublin, the others are a slick and guaranteed connection into the train from Cork at Mallow,
The 1141 is change at Mallow, Limerick Junction (another guaranteed connection) and Limerick, but that is a 17 minute connection, rather than several hours.
The 1541 is the same Limerick route, with a 5 minute connection at Limerick. That may look tight, but it is a booked connection.

Bus Eireann have a near hourly service between the two on service 14 to Limerick, with a 20 minute connection at Limerick. Two buses a day are service 40 to Cork, 20 minute connection there into the 51.
EDIT- I can see where your info came from- the troublesome Rome2Rio!! If there is one constant on this forum it's the wrong info on R2R.

Thank you for your information. You are right- I was relying on Rome2Rio. I hadn't heard that it provided questionable info. Good to know.
