Killarney and Galway your opinion on this itinerary please

I am unsure about this portion of our trip. I need to book the hotels. We can not get into our Galway hotel until July 31. Was recommend the glamont in Galway b4 we check into the abbey hotel for one night.
Would it be better to stay in a little village btwn the 2? Cities are a must do but we like getting out to smaller areas even better.

Change up something else?
Would love any comments about the drives too. I have no idea about timing etc. I don’t want to be in the car all the time but this part is Ireland seems to have fantastic views

Yes, you should stay somewhere in between Killarney and Glenlo Abbey for that night and visit the Cliffs of Moher BEFORE you go to Galway, not after you leave Glenlo. I take it this itinerary was taken from an organized tour? For self-drive it doesn't make sense to backtrack like that. Also, break up the 8-hour drive.

It is an individual trip so I can change anything - a supplier worked it up for me

Hello. I agree with the other poster. Swap a night in Galway for a night in Doolin and visit the Cliffs on the way from Kerry instead of doubling back. Doolin is a charming little village, the home of trad Irish music and close to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre (15 mins drive). It is also the departure point for Cliffs of Moher boat tours which leave from Doolin pier 4 x times daily (Mar to Nov). Doolin is also the gateway to the Aran Islands - even though they are in Co.Galway, they actually lie just off the County Clare coastline and the shortest ferry crossing times are from here. You can even book a combo tour - visit one of the Aran Islands and do the Cliffs of Moher boat tour on the way back. That evening enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants or pubs and enjoy a live music session.
