Traveling in August to Ireland. Staying in Dublin a couple of days. Plan is to drive from Dublin, visit Kilkenny, Rock of Cashel, then drive to Blarney area for overnight stay at a B&B. How much time do we need in each location? Is this a doable trip for a day?
Time at each location will depend on your interest.
The drive for that one day is doable. However if you are from the US please remember you will be driving on the opposite side of the road that you are use to. For some the adjustment is easy, for others difficult. Helps to have GPS and patience.
Depending on your chosen route traffic might be impeded. Kilkenny is very busy traffic wise. Driving to and from there might be stressful.

Believe we spent less than 2 hours at the Rock of Cashel. Kilkenny was nice and we bypassed the Blarney area. How much time you need in those areas depends on what you want to see. Dublin to Blarney is 137 miles, but don’t assume you’ll be able to drive at 60nph.
You should have plenty of time as long as you get up an go. One day a few years ago we left Doolin, had breakfast in Tipperary, visited the Rock of Cashel (a couple of hours most), toured Waterford Crystal in Waterford (couple of hours), stopped by Kells Priory (close to Kilkenny and well worth it - 30 minutes most), had a mid-afternoon snack/a few drinks in Kilkenny (2-3 hours), and were in Dublin by dinnertime.
