We will be returning to Dublin from Kenmare to catch our flight home the next day. We need to return a rental car by 9 PM and will stay at an airport hotel that last night. Is it at all reasonable to try to drive from Kenmare to the Cliffs of Moher and then on to Dublin in one day if we leave Kenmare early in the morning?

A very long day with a LOT of driving but possible? Yes. Advisable? Not by me. Depending on roads and traffic, it's about a 3-1/2 hr drive from Kenmare to the cliffs and close to that from the cliffs to Dublin. You won't have a whole lot of time to explore the cliffs. I guess you could wait and make your decision based on the weather on that day. I wouldn't drive all that way to see them in the fog and rain.

I agree with Nancy and will add an additional consideration; time of year. Right now there's about 14 hours of daylight but by early November it won't get light until 7:30 and will be getting dark by 5:30.
