Kayaking in Ireland

Hello fellow travelers-

We are headed to Ireland in June 2019 and am looking for an area to kayak. I've looked on various sites, am feeling overwhelmed and need some advice. We are an experienced kayaking family and would prefer a bay, river or lake something with stunning views. Doesn't matter if it's guided to self-guided. We are mostly traveling along the western side of Ireland.

Any ideas of places would be great.

Thanks,

Hi Stacey,

I also was recently researching Kayaking in Ireland. Based on the phenomenal reviews, and an inspiring podcast interview of Jim Kennedy...I'd recommend Atlantic Sea Kayaking. Jim is the business owner.

The podcast was: 'Ireland: Amidlife Travel' 3/25/18 'Unexpected Ireland Adventure: Kayak Tour in Cork w Atlantic Sea Kayaking'.

Best of luck to you, and hoping you get to Kayak in Ireland!

Regards,
Steve

Skellig Watersports are excellent and kayaking in Balkinskellig bay area is awesome. Nearby Waterville, on the ROK, has both great sea kayaking with wonderful caves to explore and a fantastic lake just inland, Lough Currane, with an Abbey on an island in the lakes center. Awesome kayaking !!!! Just google Waterville kayaking for options.
