Has anyone had firsthand experience staying at a Jury's under its new ownership (Leonardo Hotels)?
I recently booked the Jury's Parnell Street in Dublin, which went easily enough but when I tried to modify the booking (I wanted to check in a day earlier) I ran into a few difficulties with the original Jury's website, and the email listed for the hotel bounced. I telephoned the hotel directly to adjust my booking but never received a confirmation email. A few days later I emailed the Leonardo Hotels central booking office and found my modification had not made it into the system, but luckily they could accomodate my request.
This sort of thing is understandablde when merging two reservations systems, but still frustrating.
(BTW I've been visiting Ireland since the 1980s and always found Jury's a fairly well priced business-class chain but now rates seem to have increased dramatically -- I wonder if Leonardo Hotels is planning to move Jury's upscale?)
