July itinerary advice please

My husband and I are heading to Ireland for the first time as a 60th birthday celebration in July. We are flying in and out of Dublin and planning to rent a car. We have 7 days. Our plan is to fly in, rent the car in Dublin, and drive to Kilkenny; sleep in Kilkenny on the first night, then head to the Rock of Cashel the next day. Possibly sleep in Cork on day 2 (or is there a better place to stay to break up the drive?) Then head to Dingle for 2 nights, then see the Cliffs of Mohr. The next 2 nights could be Galway or back to Dublin. The car will be returned in Dublin.
Does this seem possible? I'm worried about driving distance between stops.

A couple of things: we love scenic drives, we prefer quaint over touristy locations.

I appreciate any feedback!
Thanks! Sue

I would adviss.not to start off driving on arrival day. First off.it is good hour and half to Kilkenny and driving on other side of.road possibly jet lagged is not a good idea. why not start with two days in Dublin then pick up your car and head east and return to Dublin the night before.your departure. When leaving from Dublin be sure to allow 3 hours before departure as you will.go.they immigration there and arrive in US as if on domestic.flight. 2 nights in Dingle.is.good. as is two.to.start.in Dublin. I.personally think.2 nights in Cork.is.too.much. Enjoy.

I second what Gail said and that is do not rent a car on arrival day if flying from North America. There is a direct bus (Aircoach) from Dublin’s airport to Kilkenny (2h): https://www.dublinairport.com/to-from-the-airport/by-bus/all-ireland-bus-routes. Rent a car in Kilkenny to explore Ireland.
Galway is a jumping off point for the Aran Islands and Connemara. If you aren’t going to either place skip Galway. Dublin is way nicer than Galway.
