We are coming in September- arrive Dublin picking up car and going to Galway for 2 nights exploring the area. Then we leave and would like to drive the Dingle peninsula and on to stay in Kenmare for 2 nights. Is that too far? We would drive ROK the next day. Next we are in Kilkenny for a night then Dublin (where we will give up the car) for 2 nights. Originally I had booked a hotel in Castleisland after Galway for a night and then Bantry but thought 2 night stay was better.?????
If I were you I would break it up by staying in Dingle for one night.
Trying to stretch your drive all the way to Kenmare would make for a very, very long day and would frankly preclude the ability to savor the experience of the Dingle peninsula and Slea Head Drive. I agree that you might be better advised to stay in or near Dingle for a couple of nights or, maybe better, find somewhere between Killarney & Dingle (Castlemaine, Killorglin, Glenbeigh) - to be in a more central (and convenient) position for exploring the ROK, Killarney NP, the Gap of Dunloe, and maybe the Skellig Ring Road near Portmagee without wearing yourself out in the process.
Thanks so much, I was kind of thinking that......
All set- changed booking to a night in Dingle!
