Itinerary Question- 14 night in fall 2025- Input Appreciated

This is how our itinerary looks so far:
Flying into Shannon from CA at 11:00AM, driving to Galway
2 nights in Galway
2 nights in Dingle
2 nights in Kenmare
2 nights in Kinsale
We have 3 or 4 in between Kinsale and Dublin- Would you stay in Kilkenny?
2 or 3 nights in Dublin

Are there any places you would change to 3 nights? We now have 4 extra nights to play with as we cancelled our Scotland plans because we felt it was too much to fit in between Ireland and London/Cotswolds. Thank you so much in advance for your help. We have been working really hard on the rest of the itinerary and realize that Ireland is a country that requires lots of movements but we are driving ourselves and don't want it to be exhausting because we are trying to do too much.

We will be going to leave for 3 nights in Cotswolds and 5 nights in London after Ireland.

I would add what you want to do and see in each of those stops -- some of those days could definitely be put to use in some of them. At least in Galway you might want an extra day since you may be pretty tired from the long flight.

Two nights only effectively gives a full day in a place. Think about adding your 'free' nights to some of the places you have already planned to stop in.

Thank you! I have detailed itineraries for each location but also want to be able to relax and take in the culture as much as possible. We usually like to see as much as possible and are trying to not pack too much in or pace too quickly on this trip. Maybe this plan will work better for those purposes, utilizing the extra nights. We could extend Dublin by a night instead of one of the others but we plan to do a full guided tour and see the Guinness Brewery in our day and a half. Not sure if we should extend Dublin or not.
3 nights in Galway
3 nights in Dingle
2 nights in Kenmare
2 nights in Kinsale
2 nights in Kilkenney (Since it cuts the travel to Dublin and lets us see Rock of Cashel too.)
2 nights in Dublin

Thanks for the input! We are definitely open to more!

Also, wondering about subbing Kilkenny out for Athlone. Athlone looks absolutely beautiful in pics and is then less than two hours from Dublin.

I like your new itinerary. Galway and Dingle are definitely worth 3 nights each. As for Kilkenny or the other location, I can’t weigh in on that. I was in Kilkenny for 1 night in 2009, and as it was our arrival day we were jet lagged and I don’t remember much. We stopped by the Rock of Cashel the next day on our way to Dingle. In 2022 we stopped at the Rock of Cashel as we were driving from Dublin to Kinsale. It doesn’t take too long to see it.

That is much better. It gives you time to relax and enjoy the views too!
