Itinerary help

My husband and I are going to Ireland in early October and will spend about 4 days in Dublin area and then head down to the Dingle Peninsula for a few days. We are flying in/out of Dublin. My question is this: can we drive from Dingle to the Cliffs of Mother - stay there for a few hours and then maybe drive east to Trim so we are close to fly out of Dublin the next day? Is that a realistic plan? Or too much driving in one day?
Alternately , we could spend one overnight close to the Cliffs and break up the drive.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

That is a trip of about 450km or 280miles. Google maps estimates six hours for the trip (but it could take longer) WITHOUT any stops... what about food and comfort breaks? This can easily add 1-2 hours to trip and that is without planning "for a few hours at Cliffs of Moher." You may be happy with this, but to be honest, it is unrealistic.

What time are you flying out of Dublin the following day and what time do you need to be at the airport?

we have a 10am flight out of Dublin. I knew it was quite a bit of driving but was thinking leave at 8am - drive to the Cliffs, have lunch, explore and then drive late afternoon to Trim

What time do you need to check in for your flight from Dublin? You need to allow an hour to drive from Trim to teh airport and then time to leave the car. That could mean a very early start after a long day the previous day...

You need to have three hours before your flight due to the pre-clearance so as said it would be a super early morning leaving from Trim and returning the .car. Personally I would drop a day off Dingle.and add to an overnight in Doolin near the Cliffs, have a nice dinner and some music in Doolin and head back to Dublin perhaps staying in Malahide for the night before your flight.

It would work if you could change your return flight to leave from Shannon(SNN). It is an excellent airport and easy to get through. It also is home to the worlds first Duty-Free shopping
