Itinerary for Two Week West Coast of Ireland Late May 2026

Two of us plan on flying into either Shannon or Dublin and would like to spend about two weeks on the west coast of Ireland, perhaps as far north as Sligo and down to Cork. We will be coming towards the end of the month and rent a car. We would like to do hiking, walking, and listening to music. Rather than moving around a lot, we'd like to stay in 3 or, not more than 4 spots and have day trips from those locations. Towns and/or lodgings are appreciated.

If you reveal time of year, any previous trips, renting a car, what you like (hikes, views, Neolithics, castle ruins, operating castles, museums, bicycling, music, pubs, craic, etc.) will help stimulate some responses. We've never stayed in one place for more than three nights, so you won't hear more from me.

If wanting to base in the west iof Ireland then flying in and out of Shannon makes most sense.

Westport is a possible base as that gives access to Sligo as well as Connemara.

Then either Killarney or Dingle

Enbd up in or around Cork for th final stay. (If you don't want to stop in Cork itself, think about a base in either Cobh or Kinsale.)
