Itinerary for Dingle to Dublin

We fly into Shannon and stay 2 nights in Dingle. I am trying to decide what to see and where to stay 1 night between Dingle and Dublin. I am thinking of staying night in Kinsale. I would like to see Rock of Cashel and my husband wants to go to Waterford, but these are not set in stone. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kelly

Much prefer Kinsale over Waterford. We stayed at the white lady hotel in Kinsale, free parking and good pub downstairs and good breakfast. Been to Waterford twice and not impressed. If you do stay in Kinsale, recommend take the ferry to Cobh, the view from St. Coleman's is fantastic. Loved walking on the waterfront. In Dingle, highly recommend Celli Breach B&B, my favorite in numerous trips to Ireland. Ireland is fantastic, enjoy.

I would agree with Gail, as would our Ireland tour planners. You can easily see the Rock of Cashel on the way from Kinsale to Dublin. Seeing Waterford as well, on the same day, would be a lot of driving. According to the map on p. 513 of Rick's Ireland book, Kinsale-Waterford takes about 3 hours, Waterford-Cashel 1.25 hours, and Cashel-Dublin 2.5 hours.
