Has any forum member taken this journey?
Our plan is to take a train from Euston station to Southampton, but a poster on a different forum indicated that the rail provider, Avanti, is having issues.
I'll also post this on the England board.
Thanks!
It would be Waterloo or Victoria to Southampton from London. Other contributors will fill you in on the details.
edit: I assume Southampton was an error, given that the title is Holyhead! You would indeed take a train from Euston for there.
I think you'll be fine with just this post here in Ireland.
Just a sidenote in case you didn't know.....Aer Lingus flies nonstop from Dublin to Southampton.
The direct flight to SOU from DUB is under consideration. Ferry/train would be novel for us, although the schlepping our bags from one train to another has its drawbacks even though we carryon only.
Make sure you buy a Sail-Rail ticket that covers both ferry and train.
