Well tomorrow we be heading back to United States. This has been one of the best trips I can remember. The people of Ireland are the kindest friendliest people I have ever met. On the last half of our vacation the best parts have been:
1) the John O'Connor tour of Dingle peninsula, good presentation of Irish History & natural beauty, if you get to Connor Pass be sure to walk up to the glacier lake.
2) Medieval Banquet at Bunratty Castle, the music is inspiring & the food was great!
3) Ashford Castle, it is hard to express the experience one gets at this living, breathing castle, the staff will go to every effort to help you, we took the Falconry Class and learned how to have the hawk go & come to my gloved hand and via vocal commands go hunting, truly a back door experience!!
4) Trim Castle is where "Braveheart" was filmed, the tour is excellent, afterwards go to the "Stockhouse" for a wonderful meal.
5) We finished today at Newgrainge Neolitic sites, Amazing structures built 500 years before the pyramids!
This has been a dream come true for me because my family came from Ireland and I felt like I was coming home in a sense.
Last words of advice: Rent a automatic, and have a GPS unit, try a shot of Jameson Wiskey (wonderful), Irish stew is great, their pizza isn't great, I loved the pubs & Celtic music.
