I am finding conflicting information regarding student discounts for attractions in Ireland. I will be traveling with two 17 year olds that are still in high school. Will their high school ID work for a student discount or is that only for European students?

In my experience it is fine. When I went to Ireland I was 16 (in 2009) and I simply said "student" whenever I went to buy a ticket for an attraction. I did not even have my High School ID but would show my passport with my age. I did not use much public transportation so I do not know about discounts that way. From what I have heard, it is only college students from the states who may need to worry about not getting student pricing. Those students may need to purchase international student ID's.
