Ireland itinerary with young kids

Hello all,

My wife and I are considering a trip to Ireland next June for our 10th anniversary with our 2 boys who will be 2 and 6 at the time. The trip would be about 2 weeks long, and I am looking for suggestions as to where the best places for home bases in Ireland might be? We don't want to change lodging too often, so would like to limit it to 2 or maybe 3 home bases. Does anybody have any suggestions about the best places to home base? I'm not too knowledgable about Ireland, we had been considering other places for this trip before changing gears to Ireland.

Thanks for any help!

A friend rented a house in Clare for a week. Her kids were about 10 & 6. They had so much fun, they bought a house.
There is lots to see/do in the West of Ireland. Room for kids to run around and play. Kerry, Cork, Waterford, Galway would also be great choices. It is very easy to locate yourself in one area and do daytrips.

I'd vote for Galway, a lively university town with easy access to beautiful Connemara, as well as Doolin, the Aran Islands (ferries depart from Rosssaveel and Doolin), the Burren, County Mayo, etc.
