Hi,
I am looking forward to a trip to Ireland in July - July 1-10. Traveling with my 21-year-old daughter, 16-year-old son, and my Mother (74, youthful and healthy). I am debating making some changes to the end of our trip. Right now, here is what I have:
Day 1 (fly out from US)
Day 2 arrive at DUB airport at 8:45 a.m. and pickup rental car. Head South. Stop at Kilkenny for coffee/food break and then Rock of Cashel. Arrive in Cobh. Spend one night in Cobh staying at the Bella Vista Hotel and Suites.
Day 3: tickets to the Titanic Experience in Cobh. Check out and head west toward Dingle. Stopping at Blarney Castle (my daughter's requesting to do this stop). Possibly Macroom for coffee/lunch. Arrive in Dingle. Staying two nights at the Tower View B&B.
Day 4: See Muckross House and hopefully Kissane Sheep Farm. Enjoy Dingle town and possibly get in a Dingle Bay Boat Cruise (the one or one and half hour boat ride). Spend the night again in Dingle.
Day 5: Dingle Slea Head Tour booked for the 4-hour Dingle Peninsula Tour. We will check out of Tower View and upon return from the morning 4 hour tour at 1:30 drive toward Kinvara for our next two night stay at Kinvara Guest House.
Day 6: Drive back toward Doolin/Cliff of Moher tour/do the Doolin Ferry Cliffs of Moher boat tour also. Look around Doolin town and then head back to Kinvara for our second night.
Day 7: Check out of Kinvara Guest House after breakfast. As of right now, we are scheduled to head to Dublin Airport to turn in the car by 7pm and then take bus to our Dublin hotel stay for three nights (7th-10th) at StayCity Aparthotels Dublin Castle. I chose this hotel because of its location. Our only ticketed event right now in Dublin is on Day 9 and that is to see River Dance at the Gaity Theatre at 8:30pm. The next morning July 10th we fly home.
Here is what I'm debating: I'd love to see Kylemore Abbey. I'm considering instead of going to Dublin on the 7th maybe changing and going to Clifden for one night and see Kylemore Abbey then to Dublin on the morning of Day 8 , leaving us the last half of day 8 and the first part of the 9th to tour Dublin. Or we could take a detour to Kylemore Abbey after leaving Kinvara on the 7th and then head to Dublin from the Abbey arriving by evening on Day 7. We'd still then have all day Day 8 and Day 9 to see Dublin. There
I'd love to do Trinity College/Book of Kells (the experience), EPIC, Archeological Museum and the GPO. And then we have the River Dance tickets set for the 9th. We head to the airport on Day 10 early for our flight home.
Okay i know that's alot of info. I'm just debating on the last days 7-10 and whether or not to try to fit in Kylemore Abbey or go to Clifden for one night before heading to Dublin. It's alot to squeeze into the 9 days but I won't be back for a few years likely!
Thanks so much!
