Ireland in October

Is October a good time to go to Ireland?

We went in October 2013 and had a great time. Fewer crowds than if you go between June and August. The weather was consistently around 50 degrees. It rained a few times, but that's Ireland. We did not have any problems with anything being closed, etc. I think it's a fine time to go.

Hi,

We were there last year for the last week in October, first week in November for a wedding. The tourist areas were still opened in October, no problems. The weather was fine, it rained on the West Coast quite a bit but I have come to expect that in Ireland. Just plan around it/have back up plans. It starts to get dark around 4-5pm, I tried to be off the road about that time.
