Ireland in late November

Planning a last minute trip to Ireland with a small group (less than 5) -- know the weather may not be the greatest so wondering if there's anything/any area we should just rule out? Thank you all

Your previous posts indicated that you only had 5 or 6 nights in the country, that you'd be relying on public transportation to get around, and that you'll be flying out of Shannon. Is that still the case?

No that admist planning for another trip several years ago... this time we will have 10 days on the ground and will rent a car, many thanks

Basically, consider that the days are very short and likelihood of cold, rainy weather is great. Ferries could be disrupted by inclement weather, and outdoor activities will be iffy. Dress in layers with plenty of waterproofing, and bring extra changes of socks. Where you spend your 10 days is pretty wide open, depending on your interests and how many nights you want to spend in one place.

We just got back from Ireland and one of my biggest takeaways from traveling on the tail-end of the tourist season was to make sure you had accommodation reservations. In the smaller towns, many of the b+b's shut down either before, or at the end of October bank holiday weekend. We were fine, as I had pre-booked everything, but you definitely need to be aware and prepared.

As for what to rule out - nothing. Just be prepared for absolutely everything and adapt to it. We had frost in the north part of County Clare at the end of October. Ireland is the land of rainbows - so you know what that means. Rain, sun, wind, rain, wind, sun.

Enjoy! We loved Ireland.
