Ireland in January?

Hello Fellow Travelers-

Strongly considering going to Ireland in January (Dublin, Galway, Dingle, Ennis, Waterford, etc). We plan on starting and ending in Dublin, driving around the country for 7-10 days.
I've read a few reviews that many of the sites are closed. As for the weather, cold weather doesn't bother me at all. Wondering if anyone has gone to Ireland in January and what there experience was like?

Thanks,

Yup, a lot of places go to a winter schedule starting in October. A dear friend took his school age kids across the pond for new years eve, and they had a great time. Just read websites closely for the hours sites are open.

We have had very nice trips in January...as you have heard, many places have shorter hours or are closed, but we experienced great times in the pubs with local people and laid back music, anyone can join in, & the musicians are more approachable. The weather has been very pleasant! The coldest times I have experience have been in March! So, go & enjoy!!
