Ireland: Help with a 1 night stop

I'm working on our itinerary for a two week trip to Ireland next June. I could use some help. We will be traveling from the Dingle Peninsula to Northern Ireland with a one night stop on the way. We intend on seeing the Cliffs of Moher that driving day too, but not staying in that area. Can you recommendation a town/village for a one night stay that would move us farther north towards Northern Ireland? I see that the RS 14 day tour stays one night in Westport, but I know there are probably many other options.

Thanks for your help!

Not sure how it fits into your schedule, but to really experience the Cliffs of Moher you should do Pat Sweeneys cliff walk!!!!!! It's first thing in AM, and you're done early enough to travel North. His family also runs a b&b....

Otherwise, we stayed in Clifden, at Ashford Castle. Cute town. We drove through Westport (and loved it, but did not stay overnight). We walked around, had lunch, and shopped etc. I would definitely think it would be a nice place to stay.
