Wife and I are looking at being in Ireland from Oct 28th to Nov 3rd arriving in Shannon and Departing from Shannon. Would like to be in Galway Sat 29th, but beyond that no plans. Not sure we will rent a car so may rely on walking/bus/taxi/train. Need itinerary ideas and cheap, clean, comfortable, safe places to stay with a private bath/shower. - Thanks

Have you looked at any guidebooks to get ideas for what you might want to see? We have no idea what your interests are so we can't really give anything but general suggestions, but we can help you narrpw down what you have time for once you know what appeals to you. Then we can suggest B&Bs (which are the best way to go for lodging).

So you have 6 days on the ground?
I would stick to the west coast then and split the time between Galway, Dingle and Killarney.. that is if you do rent a car,
Otherwise, I would probably stick to 2 places ( Galway and Killarney) and then do day trips from there.
I agree that B&B are most likely the way to go.. have you started looking for accommodations? You are cutting it close with about 2-3 weeks before you leave but odds are that given the season, you will be fine.
