My husband and I will be on a 10 day cruise around Ireland next summer. We are trying to determine how to hire a private driver at 6 different ports. The hire would be for the day. We prefer a private vehicle vs a bus. We are ok with just a driver not a tour guide. We know which destinations we want to see. If anyone can give us the benefit of their experience please let us know.
Assuming one of your stops is Dublin, I can recommend Custom Irish Tours. I used them in 2018 for a day trip. Our driver was courteous, professional and acomodating. https://www.customirishtours.com/
Have a look at the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland website This lists guides rather than just a car driver. You can identify the place you want and specify guide wiuth a car. It then identifies possible guides, listing their specialities .
If you just want a driver, have you thought about booking a taxi for a day at each of the ports of call?
We only did it once and it wasn’t in Ireland but we had an excellent experience with toursbylocalsdot com.
We reviewed the guides, communicated by email to establish our interests and were met at the dock by the guide in his car. Good luck and safe travels.
Please check any port for tenders. We were on a UK cruise and tender ports delayed us up to 3 hours getting off ship.
