Ireland 8-10 days - group of 7 or 8

Greetings,

I am planning ahead for 2021 in order to offer information to my family group, consisting of my husband and myself, brother and sister-in-law, and 3 adult sons in their 20's. None of us have been to Ireland before. There's so many different companies that offer tours, including Rick Steve's. Many of them have a fairly high activity level of walking 3-8 miles per day. I think our group would prefer a more moderate activity level. I'm hoping to find a tour that includes cities like Dublin and Galway and relaxing in great restaurants and pubs, touring the Cliffs of Kerry or Moher, great landscapes, castles and historical sites. My husband and I have been on a coach tour in the western US through Caravan Tours and loved it. I think perhaps a coach tour of 8-10 days would work well. Also, what would be the best season to visit Ireland? I'd appreciate and welcome your suggestions. Thanks Debbie
Thanks

I really enjoyed a small group tour we took in 2015 with this company: https://vagabondtoursofireland.com/
It is an Irish company and does two types of tours. Vagabond and Driftwood. We are in our 50's and did the Adventure tour (Vagabond). I would suggest with your age group you look at this tour. It includes Hiking, canoeing, cycling, horseback riding as well as seeing the major sites. (you can opt-out of some of these activities if you want to). They do many 7-12 days tours. All are small-group. (There were 11 in our group) We had a great time. I highly recommend this company. I found the pricing reasonable, the hotels wonderful, and the drivers/guides excellent. You make your own arrangements to get to Dublin where they meet you at your hotel. I would suggest you go for the first two weeks of July (before the European schools let out which is usually around July 20th - Mid September.) I like this time because you get long daylight hours and the weather is probably the best it is going to be.

There is also this company who get good reviews and offer various tours as well as offering private tours. With your group size this is worth considering pricewise. It hads the great advantage you can begin to tailor the tour to what you want to do and see.

Best time to visit - I would suggest May or June. Everywhere is still fresh and you have plenty of daylight. It is also likely to be less busy than July or August.
