Internaltional Driving Permit Needed?

I cannot find a current topic on this. Is an International Driving permit of any benefit for driving a rental car in the republic of Ireland? We, of course, have current photo driver's licenses for our home state. Thanks.

No need there, as they speak English. The IDP is to translate your license to other languages.
