Inishmore - Rent a Bike or Bus Tour?

We'll be spending a day on Inishmore in early June. I've rented electric bikes for us (4 adults) but I'm now pondering the benefits of hopping on one of the tour buses instead. The only reason I'm rethinking is for the bit of history we'd be likely to pick up with a bus driver, some explanations of what we're looking at as we go.

We are flying over, arriving around 10:15am (although we could switch that to arrive at 8:45am) and flying out at 4:15pm. Any thoughts? If bus, any particular company recommended? Thanks in advance!

My sister and I rented e-bikes. It was our first experience with e bikes and we had a blast! We both agreed that easily riding up hills that would have defeated us otherwise was a thrill! We liked exploring some of the backroads at our own pace and felt quite relaxed.

We didn’t do a tour so I can’t compare. My guess either option is going to give you a very nice day.

We also rented e-bikes, which we reserved ahead of time. I agree that it was a blast and there’s no way us older folks could have done it with a regular bike. We took the first flight so we would have some time there before the first ferry arrived. We departed on the last flight of the day. We didn’t take a bus tour so I can’t compare, but that day on the bike in Inishmore was a day I won’t forget.

You have likely already journeyed, but just in case someone else is reading, rent an e-bike. My daughter and I just traveled in early June as well. Aran Bike Hire was passing out QR codes at Galway docks for people boarding the ferry. I reserved e-bikes on the ferry, and there was no wait once we got there. Just showed them the reservation, got the helmets and bikes, and hit the road. We overnighted and decided we wanted bikes a second day. When you reserve a second day, they give you an old-fashioned bike to use overnight (you have to turn bikes in at 6pm/1800hr).
