Is it recommended that I book the Inis Oirr and Cliffs of Moher Cruise from Doolin in advance online? We are leaving for our Ireland trip in 2 months. Should I do it now or just wait until a few days before we plan to arrive there? Anyone had experience with this?
Check the refund policy. If it's generous i.e. you get all or most $$ back if canceling within a day, week, whatever, then I go ahead and book.
Last July, in peak tourist season, I had no trouble booking the day before. I went into one of the tourist information places in Doolin to ask some questions about the choices of sailings and they offered to book it for me on the spot at the internet discount price. My reason for waiting until the day before was to have flexibility in case of adverse weather. I also saw a few people buying tickets (full price) at the pier the morning of their cruise.
Thanks for the information. I e-mailed the B & B owner in Doolin and he suggested that we just wait until we arrive to check the weather. He didn't think there would be a problem booking it one day prior.
The B&B owner is correct. We've taken that ferry several times and just showed up at the dock before boarding.
In other parts of Europe we have booked really great tours with Viator with very flexible cancellation policies. We have already booked tours with them for our July trip to Ireland. Just check the info for each tour.
