Hello,
Heading to Ireland to visit a friend next month. I will be staying at her home there but wanted to know if anyone had heard whether you need proof of vaccination to enter restaurants and indoor activities. I have the proper proof of recovery and release stating I am clear for travel.
We had also hoped to do some other nearby country trips while there.
If anyone has any updates of recent or upcoming travel there I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
Kristine
A few clarification questions: What city/town will you be staying in? By "nearby country trips" do you mean visiting other countries that are near Ireland? Or do you mean going out into the countryside in Ireland?
I will be staying near Galway. We planned on traveling throughout Ireland but also we wanted to go to some other European countries. Possibly Austria, Germany, Scotland.
Are you fully vaccinated? I couldn't tell by what you said.
Based on the many discussions on the forum, it seems that each country is different. You will have to research each to learn what's required.
This post about the inconsistencies gives a good picture of them:

We just came back from Ireland(Dublin, Cork and Galway) and all the restaurants we went to asked for proof of vaccination. My friend left her card at our hotel when we went to lunch one day and they did not allow us to sit inside, instead offered us outdoor seating. They also took down our phone number for contact tracing. They also check at most indoor activities as well.
