If driving... Ring of Kerry or Dingle P.

Over 35 yrs ago, I drove some of the Ring. Now going back to Ireland with husband and we have a car.
Question: What should we do if we have just one day here? Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula? I seem to remember Dingle, but I was just out of university with a friend and I could tell you more of the pubs we visited, haha!
Also we are staying in Killarney, then moving to Cliffs of Moher (not my planning, but another couple that we are tagging on to trip, but have our own vehicle!)

I stayed in Ballybunion, with my friends family (before the great golf course) and I want to travel back thru Ballybunion to the Cliffs of Moher, but will need to take ferry into Co. Claire. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks for all the advice!

Just got back from driving both peninsulas this week! Personally, I liked the Dingle peninsula better. Smaller, but more dramatic. More ancient sites. But honestly, you can’t go wrong. Do whatever fits best into your itinerary. Killarney is the starting point for the ROK drive, but if you want to finish at the Cliffs, then you could drive directly up to the Dingle peninsula.

I dont know about the ferry, sorry.

Don’t sweat it too much. You’ll have a wonderful trip!

For one day Dingle. Linger and enjoy. Stop at the Blasket Center, try any of the home based bakeries near Dunquin - they are AWESOME. It's a great place that can be effectively done in a day if needed.

The ROK including the Skellig Ring I actually prefer but you need to really explore and it takes way more than a day to do it effectively. In one day you will miss a ton. Save it for a other longer visit.....it is SO worth it. We just spent two weeks on the ROK and barely scratched the surface.

As said though - you can't go wrong. If you do decide on the ROK - let us know and we can give some hints for making the most of one day.

Have tons of fun !!!!! They both are INCREDIBLE
