My husband and I will be spending 2 nights in Galway in June. I would appreciate hotel recommendations near bars/restaurants and ideas of things to do in the area.

If the weather is nice, I would look at taking the ferry over to the Aran Islands. You an rent bikes and bike the Island. Based ont eh time that the ferries go, it would take the better part of a day. When we were there last summer we had torrential reason in Galway so we had to change our plans.

I really enjoyed my stay at Jury's Inn Galway. It is a large chain of hotels, but the beds were comfortable and the price is reasonable. The hotel is right on the river and is at the bottom of Quay street where all the bars and restaurants are located. The Cliffs of Moher are not too far away if you will have a car.
