We are traveling to Ireland in late June to meet up with family. My husband and I are arriving 2 days before the family and would like to stay outside of Dublin central for the 2 nights. I am looking at Howth and Killiney, both easily accessible by the DART train. We like a good pub (possibly music) and easy hiking during the day. Looking for input on which would be the better stay? Thank you!
Try Malahide...its a nice town and has a pretty castle.
Agree about Malahide, we enjoyed a day trip there a few years back and would have stayed there if we had known more about it before we arrived in Dublin. Also very easy to get into Dublin on DART.
Skerries area ia also nice to stay...small and by the sea. We got a taxi there and wandered into town.
Went to Howth..not impressive in my book. Malachite or the train down coast is a nice outing..
