Hello! My friend and I want to take a side trip from Dublin to Belfast. At first I thought we could use the same tour company I used in June, then I realized oh shoot it's in March!!! The tour company I was thinking of doesn't operate in March nor does any other that I could find online. Any suggestions on a tour company that does operate in March or any other ways to get there? Thanks!
Train, bus, or drive. They all take about two hours.
See http://www.translink.co.uk/ for the daily trains on that route.
We took a train from O'Connell Station and pre-arranged with a Back Taxi tour driver to meet us at the station in Belfast. Train was very comfortable and very easy, less than two hours if memory serves. Black Taxi tour of some of the Troubles areas was excellent, with commentary provided by the driver. We had a lot of questions and got a lot of very interesting answers.
We asked to be dropped off at the spectacular Belfast City Hall, took the free tour, led by a local High School history teacher, and went to Mourne Seafood for lunch. A very nice day trip, a beautiful city.
Easy bus or train ride to the center of Belfast. As noted could pre arrange a Black Cab "Troubles" tour prior to your arrival. If you do make a day of it I'd forgo City Hall in favor of the Titanic Museum. The Seafood Chowder at Mourne's will stave off the chill. Best chowder I've had anywhere!! Have a great sojourn!
