How to fit in R. Steve's recommended Antrim Coast on 12 day trip. Thanks!

We are flying in and leaving from Dublin and renting a car after our stay in Dublin. Rick Steves recommends the Atrim coast in his book when you have 11 days or so in Ireland along with Dingle, Galway and Kilkenney/Cashel. So it seems to me I'll have to make the trip around Ireland/No. Ireland counter-clockwise, going straight to the Antrim Coast from Dublin. But I'm having trouble visualizing driving to Galway from the Antrim Coast in 1 day. Is that realistic thing to do on a vacation? It seems an awful long way and perhaps too ambitious.

I don't think it's too ambitious, but probably depends on where on the Antrim coast you'd be leaving from. I would probably drive to Sligo which is a good stopover point for lunch and little sightseeing, from there it's about another 2-1/2 hours to Galway. Total would be a little over 5 hours actual driving time but if you plan a few short stops and a long lunch half way that's not too bad of a day's drive. I'd do it, but it all depends on your driving style and how many of you are there (if kids, 5 hrs can seem like more).

Thanks, Nancy. We are going to follow your advice and add a night somewhere in between Galway and Portrush.
