How much time to get from airport to Dublin center?

We are arriving at 8:45am on a Saturday to Dublin airport on and want to take a walking food tour that day at 11am. Is two hours enough time to get through customs and meet the tour at 11am? Thanks

That is cutting it too close. Are you carrying your luggage onboard or checking it? What if your flight is delayed? Are you going to your hotel first to drop off your luggage? It’s going to take you 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes to travel from the airport to your hotel either by taxi or bus.

That’s cutting it pretty close. And even then it depends on if your flight is on time and then if your flight is on time you don’t sit on the tarmac for 45 minutes like we did waiting for an open gate. Too many variables for me to be comfortable because then there’s the cab line or how long to wait for the bus and how bad the traffic is, I could go on but I think the point is “No, that’s not enough time….” Although a food tour and walking around Dublin sounds like a great idea to get past the jet lag. Personally, I would look for an afternoon food tour.

Maybe. But there are so many variables, that I wouldn't want to try to squeeze it so tight, but that's me. Does it land at 8:45am? What if it's late arriving? How much time to deplane? Do you only have carry on? How much time to get through immigration? (There's no telling.) How are you getting to Dublin city centre? Will traffic be light, maybe better odds on a Saturday morning, than rush hour workdays. Dropping off luggage at the hotel first? Are you staying near where the food tour starts? There's lots of questions only you can answer, with some only best guesses.

I'd be stressed from worrying about making it to the tour on time; on top of jet lag, I probably couldn't concentrate on the tour.

I stood in line at immigration for quite awhile when I landed. It must have taken at least two hours from landing (on time) to hotel, by bus. A taxi would have saved time. Mine was a weekday, yours a Saturday. Still, I wouldn't chance it unless you're willing to risk what you'll pay for the tour.

@Dick We have taken the bus and a taxi from the Dublin airport and it took the same amount of time.

Thanks all for the speedy responses and helpful advice. You have confirmed my concerns. I think we'll plan the food tour for day two.
