Hotel for 3 nights in Galway

We are looking for a higher end hotel that is close to pubs, etc for 3 nights in May 2026. Any suggestions? Is 3 nights too long in Galway?
Thanks in advance

We will be staying at the Park House Hotel in Galway this May. So I don't have firsthand experience yet but a close friend recommended the hotel to me.

We stayed at the Leonardo Hotel in October for 4 nights. Great location! As for length of stay...it depends on what you want to do. I love walking around the town, out to Salt Hill as well as walking along the bay or the river. Additionally, there are lots of day trips you could do from Galway, too (Cong, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, etc.)

I also liked the Leonardo Hotel, but “high end” may not match depending on your expectations.

Our usual B&B owner retired, so we picked #7 Boutique Hotel last year. Recently remodeled, and was very quiet despite overlooking the busy pedestrian area. Very elegant room, good breakfast, and nearby subsidized parking garage. The only ding would be incredibly narrow staircase, which would be a struggle with large suitcases. I think we might have gotten a "just re-opened rate" because it appears to have become more expensive.

Our traveling companions ended up staying on a retired fishing trawler in the harbor - expansive space, though "rustic-marine" and self-cater.

We love trad music, so three nights in Galway is easy to consume. Hopefully you plan to zip over to an Aran Island or take in Connemara, and the various sights outside of town - there isn't that much to see right in the town center unless you like shopping.

The Crane Bar (upstairs) is the place to go, although Tig Coile is also reliable (but incredibly crowded). There are several other spots between the two.

Without knowing your other plans, I'd say three days in Galway seems overkill, since there's good music pubs in Doolin, Clifden, Westport, etc. Spending the night on Inishmor would be another alternative
